E3 is a fully immersive camp that gives underrepresented minority students the opportunity to experience life at West Virginia University. Stay on campus, learn from WVU students and faculty and explore the beauty of West Virginia.

2022 Program Details

Format: 6-Night, 7-Day Residential Camp focusing on Energy on WVU Campus for underrepresented minority students

Age: Rising 8th and 9th Graders

Dates: July 17th - 23rd, 2022

Cost: Free!

Transportation (Shuttle will be available for Pittsburgh International Airport and local train and bus stations)

Activities & Instruction

Education Sessions Each day holds a robust schedule of Energy Land Management curriculum and activities	Experience WVU the Morgantown Area Exploring on and off-campus fun and touring WVU campus
Site Visit with our Energy Partner Experience an afternoon at an Equitrans site in Greene County, PA	Guest Speakers Learn from industry professionals and their experiences throughout the week
Low Ropes Course at The Outdoor Education Center Team building through challenge and recreation	Try-It! Event at Cheat Lake Try a variety of activities on and around the local lake or just hang out for the afternoon!

Purpose

E3 helps educate underrepresented minority students about the opportunities for careers in the Energy industry and build college aspirations through unique experiences, resources and relationships. The free camp gives students the chance to experience adventure on and off campus, boost confidence and leadership skills, create lasting friendships and build mentoring relationships with faculty, industry professionals, and current college students.

Note: This is a cell phone restricted program

What does this mean? During certain segments of our camp, participants will be asked to either stow away their phones, or limit their access. Certain program areas also have little to no cell phone coverage. With that said, participants will be given plenty of time to connect and call parents on a daily basis. Instructors will provide further instruction while at camp on when cell phones can and cannot be used.
